Starting point

After 4 steps I would like to quickly recap where we have got to.

I hope that this all makes sense.

I have had some feedback that the steps seem a little ponderous, but I would remind you that we are trying to ensure that we can show traceability in joining the dots from our strategy to the eventual roadmap.

Step 1 - Setup

After the Setup step, which we used to create the canvas and assign access to other contributors in our organisation, we looked at the embedded data model that is a unique feature of PLOT.

Step 2 - Background

We started our story telling journey, in the Background Step, by describing the Organisation and Context for the strategy to ensure that all readers have a common and shared understanding.

Step 3 - Drivers

We synthesised the current issues and opportunities into the Strategic Drivers that the Strategy needs to consider. We are trying to lift our perspective for each one of these drivers so that we can summarise issues and opportunities into broader themes.

Step 4 - Direction

After setting the scene we now are endeavouring to look over the horizon and set the course for the next 3+ years. We did this by describing our Mission and Vision.

OK the next step in PLOT is Goals.

Strategic Goals - Part 1

Whilst the mission and vision statements are very powerful in their own right, we need to interpret them to set actionable goals that reflect all dimensions of these statements.
